To celebrate the Year of Cinema, CTFA held the “Heart-warming & Cheerful Taiwanese Films” program to tour in various cities and counties, screening popular films from the 50s and 60s by directors such as Evan YANG, BU Wan-cang, and LEE Hsing.

Director JIING Yng-ruey attended the FIAF annual congress in Norway. Due to China’s protest, CTFA adopted a temporary name “Film Archive Taipei” to participate in the congress.

To celebrate R.O.C.’s Year of Cinema, the “Chinese Musical Films” festival opened, screening 13 films with 4 classic types of musicals: country, urban, Hong Kong fashion, and fusion of Western jazz and the Hollywood style.

Senior filmmaker TUNG Yueh-chuan donated over 100 prints and related materials of titles presented by the H.K. Hsin Wha Motion Picture, and previously stored at Cinémathèque française.
