Admission

  1. Ticket Types:

      Disabled Persons Programs held independently by TAFI are free of charge Applicable to persons with a Disability ID and one person accompanying them (regardless of nationality).
      Senior Citizens 50% off the adult ticket price Applicable to persons over 65 years of age.
      Junior Citizens 50% off the adult ticket price Children between the ages of 2 and 12.
      Note: Those who purchase discounted tickets must present their valid ID at the time of purchase, pick-up, and admission.

  2. How to Purchase Tickets:
    1. Pre-sale: pre-sale tickets can be purchased at TFAI's ticketing counter, OPENTIX ticketing system, 7-11 (i-bon), and FamiPort. Please be aware that you must become a member of the OPENTIX ticketing system before purchasing tickets on the system’s website and application.
    2. Opening hours of TFAI’s ticketing counter: The counter opens at 11:00 a.m. Tickets for all scheduled screenings are available for purchase at the counter. It closes at 8:00 p.m. on business days.
    3. Refunds and exchanges should be made at our ticketing counter or at the OPENTIX Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung service offices at least one hour before the screening. A 10% handling fee will be charged. Late refunds will not be accepted. (OPENTIX customer service line: +886 2-3393-9888).
  3. Instructions for obtaining free disability tickets for programs independently held by the Institute:
    1. How to claim tickets:
      1. From 13:00 every Wednesday, free disability tickets for the program of the week (to Sunday) independently held by the Institute are available.
      2. Present the original disability certificate to the ticket counter on the first floor of the Institute to obtain the free tickets.
    2. Precautions:
      1. If you book a wheelchair seat, please note that the seat is a floor space, so you need to bring your own wheelchair into the theater.
      2. Please present a valid ID with a disabled discounted ticket. If the ID is expired, missing or unrecognizable, you need to pay the price difference to enter the theater.

Guidelines for visiting TFAI

  1. Public Area
    1. TFAI will be closed to the public in the event of natural disasters and when the local government announces office closures. In the event of exhibition change, renovation, construction or special events, the Institute may close some areas if necessary.
    2. In order to ensure the quality of visitors’ experience, TFAI has set up a flow control measure, and may guide visitors for entry and adjust the route if necessary.
    3. It is strictly prohibited to bring flammable liquids, corrosive liquids, fireworks, compressed gases, sharp objects, and other dangerous items into the Institute.
    4. Photography without permission: photography (including video and photography) is prohibited during screenings in the Theaters. Commercial photography is also prohibited in the public area. You must apply in advance for commercial photography, then you can film or shoot after obtaining TFAI’s consent. If the aforementioned requirements are not fulfilled, TFAI staff may stop your filming or photoshoot.
    5. Unauthorized gatherings, lectures, parades, sales, advertising, distribution of promotional materials or other commercial activities are strictly prohibited in the public areas of the Institute.
    6. No pet sitting service is available at the Institute. Owners wishing to bring their pets into the entire area on the 1st floor and the exhibition area on the 2nd floor should bring their own carrier bag or stroller and keep their pets off the ground. Additionally, pets are not allowed into the Theaters and the library, except for police dogs or guide dogs on duty.
    7. Should there be offensive behaviors, damage to the facilities in the public area, disturbance to visitors, or pollution to the environment and other acts that are prohibited or restricted by law or by the public notices of the Institute, and if the offender does not cooperate after being advised by the management or security guards, the Institute holds the right to remove the offender from the premises or to request the police or other authorities in accordance with law to do so, depending on the severity of the situation.
  2. Guidelines for admission to the theaters:
    1. Please comply with the film rating system. The onsite staff may check your ID at the time of admission.
    2. Please enter the theater 10 minutes before the screening. If there is a large audience waiting, the doors may be opened earlier if necessary. No admission is allowed 20 minutes after the screening starts, except for special screenings, which will be announced individually.
    3. No food or beverages with strong smell that affect other audience members are allowed in the theater.
    4. Smoking and pets are not allowed in the theater.
    5. Please dress properly when entering the theater.
    6. No audio or video recording is allowed in the theater.
    7. Please do not stand or sit in the aisles, and please turn off your mobile phone or set it to vibrate mode during the screening.
    8. Children under 2 years of age who do not occupy a seat do not need to purchase a ticket, but should present relevant ID, and be accompanied by an adult who has purchased a ticket. Children under 2 years of age are only allowed to watch general rating films.
    9. Children between the ages of 2 and 12 should purchase tickets and, if necessary, be accompanied by a guardian, relative or teacher who has purchased a ticket, and should follow the film rating system.
