1. According to The Ministry of Culture's Decree Wen Ying No.1053030105 promulgated on November 4, 2016, Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute (hereinafter referred to as TFAI) accepts the designation as the unit to publish domestic box-office statistics. To provide box-office statistics and protect information providers and stakeholders, TFAI has hereby established these regulations.
2. The term "box-office statistics” in the regulations refers to the data updated by the motion picture screening establishment to the "Box-Office Management System" in accordance with relevant laws and regulations within the prescribed time frame.
3. The "membership" in the regulations is approved by TFAI. Approval criteria: The "legal person" or "natural person" of a motion picture’s executive producers, producers and applicants who have received the "motion picture rating document (screening permission license)" issued by the Ministry of Culture is eligible to apply.
4. The box-office statistics available to members are limited to the "real time" data submitted by the member when applying for the motion picture rating document, and the box-office data from other motion pictures whose rating documents include the name of the member.
5. The data provided by the member through this system shall not violate the contract or agreement between the member and relevant rights owners during the motion picture’s production, marketing or screening. Members shall be responsible for any dispute arising out of the misuse of box-office statistics. Should TFAI receive reports of members misusing box-office statistics, and the reports are substantiated, TFAI will suspend the members' right to access the system for 30 calendar days, or cancel their membership.
6. TFAI will amend or explain matters not covered in these regulations.
