為推廣臺灣電影、開拓臺灣影視聽文化之國際能見度，同時支援海外各式非營利映演活動，國家電影及視聽文化中心之「臺灣電影工具箱」計畫，以具深度及廣度之臺灣電影推廣策略，促進臺灣電影映演、研究、宣傳之量能，並達成持續性文化交流，佈建臺灣電影海外友好組織及夥伴網絡；整合國家影視聽中心資源，透過「臺灣電影工具箱」計畫進行海外推廣，強化中心作為臺灣電影海外推廣窗口及專業典藏機構國際形象。
「臺灣電影工具箱」藉由實際補助放映版權費及放映素材，服務海外展演臺灣電影活動，為提升本計畫展演內容多元性，影視聽中心另投注豐厚之典藏資源、研究、修復成果及館舍節目等為推廣主軸，每年度另精選數部臺灣各年代電影，以策展概念向海外觀眾推介臺灣電影的多元面貌。
為便利海外申請者、策展單位進行選片，本計畫將開設線上試看服務；實際資源除提供放映版權費及符合需求之不同規格放映媒材外，在發展多方合作之可行性下，亦得共同製作其他語言字幕版本，進一步開啟海外深度交流之契機。「臺灣電影工具箱」不僅是臺灣電影非營利海外授權資料庫，我們更將提供策展諮詢服務，依照申請單位需求，提供合適片單建議輔助臺灣電影脈絡之理解，影視聽中心豐富資源之整合運用，期盼主動促成更多臺灣電影之海外放映合作。

In order to promote Taiwanese films, open up the international visibility of Taiwanese film and television culture, and support various non-profit screening activities overseas, Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute expanded "Taiwan Cinema Toolkit" project. The purpose of this project is to use a profound strategy to promote Taiwanese film screenings, research, and promotions, achieve sustained cultural exchanges, establish relationships with overseas organizations and partner networks, and integrate Taiwanese film, audio and video. The institute's resources are used for overseas promotion through the Taiwan Cinema Toolkit program, strengthening the institute's international image as a window for overseas promotion of Taiwanese films and a professional archival institution.
Continuing the original concept, the expansion of "Taiwan Cinema Toolkit" serves overseas exhibitions of Taiwanese films by actually subsidizing screening copyright fees and screening materials. In order to enhance the diversity of the content of this project, Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute’s archival resources, research, restorations and museum programs are used as the main focus of promotion additionally. Each year, several Taiwanese films from various eras are selected to promote the diverse aspects of Taiwanese films to overseas audiences through a curatorial concept.
In order to facilitate the selection of films by overseas applicants and curators, this project will provide an online preview service. In addition to providing screening copyright fees and screening media of different specifications that meet needs, the actual resources will be subject to the feasibility of developing multi-party cooperation. They can also jointly produce subtitled versions in other languages, further opening up opportunities for in-depth overseas exchanges. "Taiwan Cinema Toolkit" is not only a non-profit overseas authorized database of Taiwanese movies. We will also provide curatorial consulting services. According to the needs of the applicants, we will provide suitable film program suggestions to assist in understanding the context of Taiwanese movies. Through the integrated use of the rich resources of the institute, we hope to proactively promote more overseas screening cooperation of Taiwanese films.
