  • How do I register to become a paid member of TFAI?

    On the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > BECOME A MEMBER. There, you will find information about membership fees and benefits. Then, on the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > LOG IN > SIGN UP to become a "Registrant."

     

    *Note that "Registrants" do not yet have paid member privileges.

     

    On the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > LOG IN. After logging into the "Profile" page, click on "Join Membership," and you will be able to choose your membership plan. Choose the "Time Keeper" or "Time Traveler" plan in accordance with your needs, then click on "Pay to Upgrade" to proceed with online credit card payment.

     

    ➤In-person application or paper form:

    You may also apply in person by visiting the TFAI during opening hours and filling out your profile information at the service counter, where both cash and credit card payments are accepted.

     

    Once you have completed the above steps, congratulations—you are now a member of TFAI!

  • Can foreigners apply for TFAI membership?

    Yes, if you are a:

     

    ➤Taiwan resident: You may apply online with a valid Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) ID and a Taiwan mobile number.

     

    ➤Foreigner: If you do not have an ARC, you may apply in person at TFAI with your passport. If you would like to purchase member tickets or ticket packages, we recommend asking friends or relatives in Taiwan for assistance. You may also email [email protected] and we will provide manual assistance where possible.

     

    *For general (non-member) tickets, foreigners may use an overseas mobile phone number to register for an account on the OPENTIX Ticketing System and purchase tickets directly.

  • How do I collect my physical membership card and the movie voucher(s) included in the new member gift?

    ➤Online application: Present your ID at the TFAI service counter for verification to collect your physical membership card and new member gift (movie voucher(s)).

     

    ➤In-person application: Collect your physical membership card and new member gift immediately after completing the registration process at the service counter.

  • What is the New Taipei City resident discount, and how do I apply for it?

    Residents whose household registration is in New Taipei City are eligible for the following first-time member benefits:

    ➤Annual fee waiver for the "Time Keeper" (Basic Membership) plan.

    ➤TWD$300 discount for the "Time Traveler" (Advanced Membership) plan, plus 30% off the renewal fee for the following year.

    To receive this discount, New Taipei City residents must apply at the TFAI service counter in person with a valid ID/documentation. This discount is currently unavailable for online applications.

  • How do I check my membership expiration date or membership level?

    On the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > LOG IN > enter your account and password. Once you log in, you will be able to see various information such as your membership level, profile information, and membership period (under "My History").

  • How do I update my profile or update my password?

    On the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > LOG IN > enter your account and password. Once you log in, you will be able to edit and update your profile. To change your password, click on "Change Password."

  • What if I forget my account name?

    Email us at [email protected] or call us at +886-2-85228500 ext.3312 during opening hours. You may also visit the TFAI service counter in person with a valid ID to retrieve your account information.

  • What if I forget my password?

    On the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > LOG IN > click on "Forget Password?", then follow the on-screen instructions and enter your ID number and email address to receive a password reset email.

  • What if I don't receive the registration activation email?

    Please check the email inbox you used for registration. If the email is not in your inbox, please check if it has gone into your spam or junk mail folder.

    If you did not receive the activation email because you entered the incorrect email address, please email us at [email protected] or call +886-2-85228500 ext.3312 during opening hours. You may also visit the TFAI service counter in person with a valid ID, and we will help you update your email address.

  • How do I upgrade from "Time Keeper" to "Time Traveler"?

    Within 3 months of registering as a "Time Keeper," you can upgrade to "Time Traveler" by paying the fee difference. Complete the upgrade online through MEMBER > LOG IN or in person at the TFAI service counter.

  • How do I check my member points?

    On the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > LOG IN > enter your account and password. Once you log in, you will be able to check your points balance on the "Member Points" page.

  • How do I earn member points?

    You can earn member points by purchasing TFAI movie tickets or making purchases inside the TFAI venue (dining, gift shop, events, etc.).

     

    Each movie ticket purchase earns 1 point per TWD$20. All other purchases earn 1 point per TWD$100.

     

    If you purchase tickets for TFAI-organized programs through the OPENTIX Ticketing System, please first complete the "Membership Binding" process on the OPENTIX Ticketing System to bind your TFAI membership to your OPENTIX account. Only then will your spending be recorded and member points awarded.

  • How do I redeem my member points?

    On the official TFAI website, go to MEMBER > MEMBER POINT REDEMPTION. There, you will be able to redeem your member points for available products. Detailed redemption rules are provided on the product pages. Note that the list of redeemable products is updated periodically, so please check the official website for the latest information.

  • Do my membership level and member points expire?

    “Time Keeper" has a membership duration of 1 year. "Time Traveler" has a membership duration of 5 years. Member points accumulated in a given year are valid until the earlier of December 31st of the following year or the membership expiration date. Any unused member points after that automatically become invalid.

  • Can I transfer my membership and member points to someone else?

    Membership levels and member points cannot be transferred to another account.

  • How do I purchase tickets?

    TFAI uses the OPENTIX Ticketing System, which allows you to purchase tickets online, at OPENTIX Service Offices and Distribution Points, or through convenience stores. For detailing ticketing information and service locations, please see the OPENTIX Assistance Center.

     

    Tickets can also be purchased in person at the TFAI service counter during opening hours (Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00-20:00) using cash or credit card.

  • How do I purchase TFAI member-only ticket packages?

    Please first make sure that you have a valid TFAI membership. For related questions, please see the "Membership FAQ." Each program has different ticket package rules. Members can purchase ticket packages starting from the presale date.

     

    ➤E-ticket packages: Go to the OPENTIX Ticketing System > Flagship Pavilion > Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute > select the program you wish to purchase > check the session list for available member packages.

     

    ➤Paper ticket packages: Available for purchase at the TFAI service counter during opening hours.

    *Reminder: You must first bind your TFAI membership on the OPENTIX Ticketing System before you can purchase TFAI member-only ticket packages online. Select your desired "Member-only package" first, then choose your desired screening session(s).

  • How do I check my ticket orders?

    After logging into the OPENTIX Ticketing System, click on the Member icon > Order Records. Click on the order number you wish to check to display the order information.

     

    You can also view your order information in the "OPENTIX Order Confirmation" email sent to you after completing your order.

  • When is the monthly program schedule released?

    The program schedule is usually released in the middle to late part of the preceding month. Please follow TFAI's official Facebook and Instagram accounts for updates.

  • Which membership levels are eligible for TFAI member presale tickets?

    Both "Time Keeper" (Basic Membership) and "Time Traveler" (Advanced Membership) members are eligible to purchase tickets during the TFAI presale period.

     

    Important reminder: You must first bind your TFAI membership on the OPENTIX Ticketing System before you can purchase presale tickets.

  • How do I bind my OPENTIX account to my TFAI membership?

    Follow these steps: OPENTIX Ticketing System > Member icon > Account Settings > Membership Binding > New > Add Binding - "Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute" > enter your ID number for verification > binding successful! 

  • How do I collect my purchased ticket(s)?

    There are multiple ticket collection options:

    ➤E-tickets: If you select e-ticket at checkout, it will appear in the "Ticket Box" of your OPENTIX app. Simply present the ticket QR code for easy entry.

    ➤Paper tickets: After completing your purchase and before the event, you can collect your ticket by providing your member account (mobile number) and 7-digit ticket collection code at the TFAI service counter, service locations, or 7-ELEVEN convenience stores.

  • How do I use the movie voucher(s) included in my TFAI new membership gift?

    You may use the movie voucher(s) at the TFAI service counter to reserve seats for TFAI program screenings. The voucher(s) have no expiration date and are transferable. Once redeemed, vouchers cannot be refunded or exchanged.

  • What should I do if a program is canceled or postponed?

    If a program is canceled or postponed, please check TFAI's official website and Facebook page for related announcements.

  • How do I get a refund or exchange my ticket?

    1. For TFAI screenings, refund requests must be made no later than one day before the screening date. Specific information on refund deadlines can be found on each program page under "Important Notes" > "Return and Exchange Instructions." If you have already collected the paper ticket(s), the refund deadline will also be printed on the ticket(s). Refunds cannot be processed after the deadline.

     

    2. A handling fee of 10% will be charged for refunds. Please refer to the "Return and Exchange Instructions" section of each program page.

     

    3. Refund method (limited to e-tickets or uncollected paper tickets):
    Please use the OPENTIX online refund function. Go to the OPENTIX Ticketing System > Member icon > Order Records > choose the order you wish to refund, click "Refund Order." If your request meets the refund policy, you can select the ticket(s) for refund and complete the process online.

     

    ➤Credit card, mobile payment, Cultural Coin (full payment) purchases:
    For ticket packages or if you cannot use the "Refund Order" function, please go to the Refund Application page, select option 1, and fill in the order details. Once your application is verified as satisfying refund conditions, the refund will be processed within 3 business days.

     

    ➤ATM transfer or cash purchases:
    Go to the Refund Application page, select option 2, fill in the order details, and upload a photo of your bankbook. Once your application is verified as satisfying refund conditions, the refund will be processed within 3 business days.

  • What if I lose my ticket?

    Lost tickets cannot be reprinted or reissued. For related inquiries, please email us at [email protected], or call +886-2-85228500#3312 or visit the TFAI service counter in person during opening hours.

     

    *If another audience member enters with a valid ticket for the same program and seat, priority will be given to the ticket holder.

  • What guidelines do I need to follow when attending a screening?
    1. Please follow the film classification system and attend screenings in accordance with regulations. TFAI reserves the right to check IDs at entry depending on the film's rating.

    2. Audiences begin entering the theater 10 minutes before the screening starts. If attendance is high, TFAI may open entry earlier. Entry is not permitted 20 minutes after the screening commences, and tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged at that point. (Special screenings are exempt and rules will be announced separately.)

    3. Food or beverages with strong scents or may disturb other audience members are not permitted inside the theater.

    4. Smoking and pets are strictly prohibited inside the theater.

    5. Proper attire is required for entry.

    6. Audio and video recording inside the theater is strictly prohibited.

    7. During the screening, please do not stand or sit in the aisles, and please turn off your mobile phone or switch to silent mode.

    8. Children under the age of 2 who do not occupy a seat may enter free of charge, but valid documentation may need to be presented, and each child must be accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Children under the age of 2 may only attend General Audience (G-rated) films.

    9. Children aged 2 to 12 must purchase a concession ticket to enter. If necessary, they must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or teacher with a valid ticket, and must follow the film classification system for entry.
