Shorty TSÂI Memorial Film Festival opened at the 228 Peace Memorial Park open-air stage.

Fire broke out at CTFA’s library and the director’s office. Fortunately, it was contained in a timely manner, resulting in minimal damage.

The family of CHEN Cheng-san, founder of Mailiao’s Kung Le Society, donated the prints, scripts, cassette tapes, posters, stills, and newspaper clippings of 5 Tanwainese-language titles that he produced and preserved - Little Heroes vs. Two Masked Villains, The Wandering of Three Siblings, Jin Yin Tian Gou Part 1 & 2, and Love Never Ceases.

Having split from the Motion Picture Foundation, R.O.C. for over a year, CTFA completed the juridical person registration at the Taipei District Court. The “Chinese Taipei Film Archive Foundation” was officially established.

1992.9.25-11.18

The “Taiyupian Classics” program toured all over Taiwan. The anti-smoking organization, John Tung Foundation, protested at the Executive Yuan and the Government Information Office, accusing Japanese cigarette company JT of planting cigarette advertisements through sponsoring the film festival.

Applied to join the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF), and received observer status.
