A struggling ninth-grader escapes his miserable school life by dreaming of a tranquil underwater world. When he stumbles upon a child kidnapping, his attempt to help backfires, turning him into a second hostage. As high school entrance exams approach, anxious parents and bumbling kidnappers panic over prestige and money. Yet for the two young captives, their rural captivity becomes an unexpected, worry-free summer vacation. Chen Yu-Hsun's debut feature is a classic Taiwanese comedy satirizing academic pressure and societal absurdities.
