巴黎公立醫院內，重大手術日復一日上演，是震撼的生死瞬間，也是平庸的日常勞動。全片採人類學式的參與觀察，將悚然的血腥手術、內視鏡攝影，搭配醫療人員一派輕鬆的操演，冷靜透析人體內外熟悉又陌生的奇異風景。片名引用五百年前解剖學名著，將血肉敞開於銀幕，宛如鏡像般令人反思生與死、自我與他者的連結。

導演表示，團隊為突破傳統攝影的距離感，特別委製微型鏡頭，使體內與體外視角相疊合，連結器械與肉身，揭示人與萬物交織的相互依存關係，試圖以嶄新視角敞開肉身，為靜止的解剖圖譜注入動態、時間與聲響。

Five centuries after Vesalius's anatomical landmark, De Humani Corporis Fabrica opens the human body to cinema within Paris hospitals. Directors Véréna Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor note that the film aims to re-examine the flesh by infusing static anatomy with movement, time, texture, and sound. Rejecting conventional cameras, they used a custom miniature lens to bridge medical endoscopy with external observational footage, encouraging viewers to rethink interiority and exteriority, self and other, and the interdependencies connecting all bodies.
