一樁兇案的死者斷氣前，留下了飛行員御手洗健的姓名，使他無端遭警方懷疑。好不容易脫身之後，他受命駕機前往台北，與女記者香蘭同行，卻發現機上藏屍，抵達松山機場又遭殺手追擊。兩人穿梭街道與夜總會，察覺命案牽涉二戰末期失蹤的鑽石。

1967年在台上映時名為《陸海空大決鬥》，由日本與台灣國光影業共同製作，將跨地域製片網絡轉化為動作片的速度與空間。飛機、松山機場、汽車與夜總會接連出現，台灣的城市空間成為追逐、諜報與喜劇交錯的拍攝現場。深作欣二以明快調度串聯陸海空場面。台語片巨星白蘭轉換既有的悲情形象，化身介入事件的女記者，並與脫線、小戽斗等台語片演員一同加入千葉真一、高倉健領銜的跨國陣容，將台語片的明星與演員帶入台日合作的商業電影生產。

Pilot Mitarai Ken is mistaken for a murder suspect after a dying man leaves his name. Sent to fly to Taipei with journalist Xiang-lan, he discovers a corpse on board and killers waiting at Songshan Airport. Co-produced by Ninjin Productions and Taiwan's Kuo Kuang Motion Picture Company, the film turns planes, cars, streets, and nightclubs into the machinery of a transregional thriller. Bai Lan shifts from her familiar tragic persona to an active reporter in a Japanese–Taiwanese genre production.
