台南女子樂隊指揮桂枝向來自愛，卻深陷於浪蕩子阿郎的糾纏。倆人為愛私奔高雄後，阿郎終日遊手好閒，直至靠著載豬貨車意外翻身。某夜，當桂枝獨自搭火車北上，窗外兩輛貨車正瘋狂飆速，阿郎的身影在黑暗中逐漸模糊⋯⋯

改編自陳映真小說《將軍族》。增添充滿野性魅力的本土角色「阿郎」，使敘事不再停留於人道主義的理念與悲憫，而被更深層的慾望動能引動前行，延展出更複雜的觀看層次與視角。電影延續其強烈視覺風格，利用霓虹夜景與多重嵌套的鏡框式構圖，將內在焦慮化為空間的光影張力，精準呈現三位主角在慾望邊緣的拉扯。張美瑤飾演的桂枝面對暴力與誘惑不卑不亢，拒絕被情感吞噬，強烈呈現女性的自主與尊嚴。

Kuei-chih, a disciplined band conductor in Tainan, is drawn into a dangerous romance with A-lang, a charming drifter. She risks everything for him, only to watch his pride and thrill-seeking spiral after a sudden run of money hauling pig trucks. As she urges him toward a "better" life, he sinks deeper into speed and risk. Adapted from Chen Yingzhen’s novel, General Clan, Pai Ching-jui and cinematographer Lin Tsan-ting heighten the story with neon nights, racing roads, and framed compositions that mirror psychological pressure, while Kuei-chih’s refusal to submit asserts a rare female agency.
