從小被父母安排有一天會結婚的奧黛特公主和德瑞克王子，兩人自有記憶以來卻互看不順眼。每年夏天，他們輪流到對方的王國過暑假，在你打我、我踢你中度過童年。多年後，兩人在舞會上再次相遇，德瑞克王子見到奧黛特公主美若天仙，向她表白卻因理由膚淺遭到拒絕。當晚他們失落的分別，沒想到奧黛特公主在回家的路上被邪惡巫師襲擊捉走，並受到詛咒變成一隻天鵝，恐怕再也無法見到德瑞克王子。

Prince Derek and Princess Odette spent their childhood hating each other, while both parents hoped that they would wed someday and join the kingdoms. Years later, they reunite as adults and fall in love; however, disappointed by Derek's shallow reason for love, Odette rejects him. On the way home, Odette encounters an ambush led by evil wizard Rothbart. Gone with the wind, the kingdom assumes that Odette is dead, but only Derek is determined to find her.
