In a small town in Czechoslovakia, Karel Zeman invented groundbreaking film special effects techniques, creating revolutionary movies. In an era before digital effects and computers, he took audiences on journeys back to prehistoric times, to the moon, and deep under the sea. The documentary presents the director's life and works, including interviews with renowned filmmakers such as Terry Gilliam, Tim Burton, Yamamura Koji, and Ono Kosei, paying tribute to one of today's most influential animators and his imaginative handcrafted world.
