Under the sea, in the kingdom of Atlantica, King Triton's youngest daughter, Ariel, is fascinated by the human world. After falling in love with Prince Eric, whom she saved during a storm, Ariel gives up her voice to Ursula, the sea witch, in exchange for a pair of human legs. To remain human forever, Ariel must try to receive a "true love's kiss" within three days; otherwise, the magic expires and she becomes Ursula's property.
