1975 年，因參與學運而通緝在逃的法律系學生，埋首為五年前自焚的青年全泰壹撰寫傳記。他躲過便衣監視，走訪青年待過的血汗工廠，聆聽親友的口述回憶。面對獨裁政府的無情鎮壓、仍舊惡劣的勞動環境，青年在世時心懷勞工處境、手持《勞基法》抗議的悲壯身影，在他眼前清晰浮現......。

本片改編自《星星之火：全泰壹評傳》及作者趙英來律師的真實經歷，導演朴光洙與李滄東、許秦豪等人共同編劇，由超過 7600 位民眾集資製作。交互穿插的黑白與彩色影像，刻劃「漢江奇蹟」背後的勞工苦難，以及工人運動先驅全泰壹不滅的反抗精神，如何持續影響七〇年代以降的學運及民主化抗爭。

Kim Young-soo, a law-school graduate, becomes obsessed with the story of Jeon, a 22-year-old manual laborer who sacrificed himself in protest of unjust labor laws by self-immolation. Determined to write Jeon's biography, Kim delves into his diary and interviews those who knew him. Through this journey, Kim not only uncovers Jeon's story but is deeply inspired by his unwavering determination and sacrifice.
