《今敏：造夢魔術師》的紀錄片導演飛往日本，走訪學者齊藤綾子、傳記作家津田直美、多位女性策展人，以及與田中情同母女的《母親》女主角香川京子，藉眾多女性專家和影人之口，共同訴說她們理解與追憶的田中絹代。全片聚焦田中的導演創作，爬梳精采史料及口述訪談，戮力重塑不同史觀，為這位女性電影先行者建構更豐盈完滿的生命軌跡。

Tanaka Kinuyo witnessed the evolution of Japanese cinema from her debut in 1924 until the 1970s, starring in over 258 films. Beyond acting, she defied gender norms to become a director in the male-dominated industry, showing women as nuanced characters rather than passive victims. The documentary traces Tanaka's life and directorial contributions, shedding light on her legacy and commitment to authentic portrayals of women on the silver screen.
