承受病痛與治療之苦的小康，在漂泊過程中遇見了亞儂。兩個孤獨的陌生人撫慰了彼此的寂寞，後又分離，繼續過著各自的日子......。蔡明亮導演透過觀察兩位演員真實的生活與工作，轉化自身與兩位演員的相處經驗和情感，以 46 顆長鏡頭替代言語，呈現日常生活中平淡而重複，卻總有一絲慰藉的日子。本片分別在電影院與美術館上演，展開「《日子》在電影院／在美術館」的跨域藝術計畫，不僅為其招牌的緩慢電影美學拓出新的代表作，更為電影藝術的跨界提出又一新的可能性。

Kang, who endures illness and treatment, meets Non while traveling. Two lonely souls find solace in each other's company through physical touch, then part ways. Director Tsai Ming-liang observes the actors' real life experiences, translating them into 46 long shots rather than words. The film portrays the simple yet comforting aspects of daily life and is screened in cinemas and art museums, pushing the boundaries of Tsai's slow film aesthetics and cinematic cross-disciplinary possibilities.
