In a romantic encounter, Asako falls in love with the mysterious Baku as swiftly as he vanishes. Years later Asako moves to Tokyo, where she meets Ryohei, who highly resembles Baku, only that he doesn't know who she is. Based on Shibasaki Tomoka's novel, it took director Hamaguchi 6 years to perfect Asako's ambivalent desires of love.
