六零年代萬華龍山寺一帶，本省族群與外省族群在社區中共存。為了照料父親病情，懷抱歌星夢的小芳擺攤賣藥酒，以動人歌聲吸引民眾駐足。亭亭玉立的小芳，同時吸引了在電台工作的本省青年唐亮，以及擔任攝影師的外省青年羅忠。兩人為了追求小芳，奉獻真心之餘也各出奇招。在一連串的笑鬧碰撞後，三人交織的命運竟尋獲更大的驚喜。

Hsiao-fang works at a market stall to support her ailing father. She dreams of becoming a singer, attracting customers with her enchanting voice. Both Tang Liang, a Taiwanese working in a radio station, and Lo Chung, a postwar immigrant from China, fall for the beautiful Hsiao-fang. The two young men attempt all kinds of tricks to impress the girl but their entwined conflicts gradually give way to the possibility of living in harmony. Set in the 1960s, the film captures the lives of Taiwanese and post-1949 Mainlanders living side-by-side around Lung Shan Temple.
