除了歷史演進與族群融合造就出的多元文化，作為亞洲第一個通過同性婚姻合法的國家，臺灣對於多元文化與族群的包容程度，無疑已是先驅。臺灣同性婚姻法案通過已屆六週年，也彰顯令臺灣電影揚名國際的《囍宴》等片勇於挑戰保守傳統的精神，故特別挑選呈現不同LGBTQ+族群面相的作品，除了再度凸顯臺灣位居亞洲國家之中遠較開放包容的先進風氣，LGBTQ+電影創作者的嶄新創意和獨特觀點，也透過這些影片令人一覽無遺。
