In a dusty Texas town, a group of women reunite at a five-and-dime store to commemorate the 20th anniversary of James Dean's death. As they reminisce, old tensions surface and long-held secrets emerge—especially around Mona, who claims her son was fathered by Dean. Shifting between the 1950s and 1970s, Altman's intimate adaptation of Ed Graczyk's play explores friendship, delusion, and the enduring pull of faded Hollywood dreams.
