Set over five days in Nashville, the film follows 24 characters, including singers, politicians, and outsiders, as they orbit the city's country music scene. Blending satire with grassroots culture, Altman paints a sprawling portrait of 1970s America, where politics and entertainment blur. With its loose structure and vibrant soundtrack, the film captures a fractured nation before its Bicentennial, restless, performative, and shadowed by uncertainty.
