1989年,電影《悲情城市》上映,打破噤聲,在歷經長達38年集體失語的戒嚴年代後,首次以影像重新回應228的悲劇事件以及白色恐怖,也開啟了一連串以電影作為媒介,在歷史的廢墟中拼湊記憶,表達難以言明的創傷經驗,建立另一種歷史敘事的行動。適逢《悲情城市》數位版的重映,TFAI也選映了侯孝賢的《好男好女》(1995),以及萬仁的《超級大國民》(1995),透過再次觀看這三部作品,見證電影如何轉化與再詮釋歷史傷痛,一起反思創傷記憶所帶來的影響。

Hou Hsiao-hsien's City of Sadness (1989) is the first film that breaks the silence to represent the tragic fate and political trauma of Taiwanese people caused by the 228 incident and the White Terror during the over 38-year-long consecutive martial law period. TFAI shows this groundbreaking film together with Hou’s Good Men, Good Women (1995) and Wan Jen’s Super Citizen Ko (1995), reflecting on the traumatic memory and enduring pain experienced by the victims and survivors in history.

改編自《幌馬車之歌》,侯孝賢持續以影像思索台灣歷史的三部作品之一。一部名為《好男好女》電影正在攝製,講述日治時期鍾浩東與其妻蔣碧玉前往中國參加抗戰,卻又歷經白色恐怖的曲折故事。戲外,飾演蔣碧玉的梁靜正面臨生活上的種種變化,現實與戲劇交錯纏繞,竟逐漸模糊了界線。

 

Good Men, Good Women, adapted from the novel Sapporo Carriage Song is the last film of Hou’s Taiwan trilogy. The film depicts the experience of White Terror victims Zhong Hao-dong and his wife Jiang Bi-yu. It’s also about the private life of the actress who plays the role of Jiang. The film represents a traumatic history of the present and past, focusing in particular on memory.
