The Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute has been dedicated to promoting film aesthetics education in Taiwan and to establishing a support system and resource platform for film and media literacy education. In addition to organizing various educational activities and courses, the Institute also produces publications and teaching materials such as picture books, comics, and teaching kits. The Institute has also launched online educational videos through YouTube and other platforms in order to promote film and media literacy education to audiences of different ages, ethnic groups, genders, classes, and countries in a way that meets the habits and interests of contemporary people, as well as to create an environment where film culture is accessible. The Institute also uses images and media content as a medium to foster the public’s ability to filter information and to inspire creativity. Moreover, the Institute organizes various promotional and educational activities such as film screenings and workshops with resources from various parties to introduce the public to the preservation and restoration of audiovisual assets, as well as the conversations on film aesthetics and narratives. The aim is to promote visual thinking on society, history, and culture, and to cultivate the sense of beauty, appreciation, and criticism in audiences.
