時隔兩年回到村落，薩哈的未婚妻儂瑪竟已成為父親的第二任妻子。被失望、憤怒、背叛侵蝕的他，毅然決然搬離村落，在不遠的荒郊獨自生活。儂瑪見到舊情人歸來，無法壓抑從未熄滅的愛意，兩人再續前緣，品嘗著甜蜜的禁果。當兩人的禁愛被揭穿，家人認為儂瑪的行為令家族蒙羞，引發悲劇。而薩哈則背上悖德的罪名，接受村落律法的制裁，然而制裁之人，竟是他的親弟弟……。

村民的群體意志與男主角的個人追求形成對立，同時牽連著彼此的命運，形成宿命下無力回天的壯麗悲劇。導演透過作品投影出非洲家鄉的生活和景色，核心則探討著關於愛情、友情、尊重與背叛的普世故事。

Saga discovers that his father has married Nogma, his fiancée, after returning to the village after a long absence. Refusing to accept the situation, he departs again to reside alone in the outskirts. Nogma, unable to suppress the love that never ceased, begins secret visits to Saga's hut. Upon the discovery of their love affair, the lovers become targets of a ruthless execution for defying the unscripted code of conduct. Idrissa Ouedraogo incisively portrays individual priorities pressured by social values when choosing between love, hate, blood ties and honor.
