風雨交加的夜晚，文信前往陳家投靠擔任管家的伯父，住進傳聞有白衣女鬼出沒的大宅。他夜裡遇見白衣女子，原來她不是鬼魂，而是已故陳家夫人的女兒惠美。文信受聘擔任她的家庭音樂教師，兩人漸生情愫，卻遭陳家老爺反對，也使一段被掩埋的家族往事浮現。

田清讓女兒陳秋燕一人分飾母親梅蘭與女兒惠美，讓兩代女性的命運彼此映照，使母親未能說出口的苦難，透過女兒的身體與愛情再次出現。暴雨、白衣女子、亡者遺像、幽暗宅邸與家族祕密等哥德羅曼史元素，將看似超自然的恐懼逐步引向迷信、階級偏見與婚姻自主的衝突。鋼琴與音樂教學則為青年男女開闢出不同於家族秩序的感情空間。青春愛情、家庭倫理劇與哥德想像在此相互疊合。

On a stormy night, Wen-xin enters the Chen family mansion, rumored to be haunted by a woman in white. There he meets Hui-mei, whose face is identical to that of her late mother, Mei-lan, and becomes her music tutor. Director Tien Ching casts Chen Qiu-yan in both roles, allowing the same face to return across portrait, memory, and present time. Gothic motifs—rain, a shadowy house, and a buried family secret—shift the source of fear away from the supernatural and toward domestic hierarchy, superstition, and control over marriage.
