James, a gaunt recovering addict, drifts through a fragmented existence haunted by intrusive memories of burglary, imprisonment, and the torment of withdrawal. Confined to a narrow room, his mind slips between present isolation and ruptured recollections: a canal-side incident in adolescence, the crimes that followed, and brief flashes of an innocent childhood in sunlit fields. Lynne Ramsay's second short film deploys a non-linear structure, layered soundscape, and tactile imagery to depict the disintegrating inner state of a lonely soul.

On a Christmas morning in wintry Scotland, a young supermarket worker wakes to find her boyfriend dead by suicide. She conceals the death, claims his unpublished manuscript as her own, and embarks on an unexpected journey of self-reinvention. Leaving her former life behind, she travels to Spain with her best friend, oscillating between stifling isolation and hedonistic encounters. Guided by a mixtape her boyfriend left behind, her aimless search becomes a compelling passage through grief, anonymity, and uncertain freedom.
