小彤與永勝從小形影不離，是彼此最親密的玩伴。某天永勝在田徑練習時不幸猝死，當場目睹的小彤，被突如其來的死亡與深刻的自責擊垮，失去摯友的孤寂、雙方家人的不諒解，令他墜入無法自拔的黑暗深淵。此片傳聞當年因涉及「同性戀」對白與社會批判而遭禁映，部分情節亦令人聯想到陳映真的小說《麵攤》。

半世紀後，盧卡斯東特的《親密》亦細膩描繪兩位青少年因情感過於親近，繼而受到同儕與社會異樣目光，最終導致情誼崩解與憾事發生。兩部作品皆探觸男孩在無邪的親密中，那曖昧卻深刻的依存關係，以及悲劇驟發時難以言說的青春傷痕。

Tong and Yong-sheng are inseparable playmates, but when Yong-sheng dies during track training in Tong's presence, Tong is devastated and consumed by guilt. Misunderstood by both families, he spirals into darkness. Reportedly banned for its homosexual and political undertones, the film was a rare early exploration of queer themes in 1970s Taiwan cinema. Long before Lukas Dhont's Close tenderly examined the rupture of boyhood intimacy, this film had already traced similar contours—where love, loss, and silence intertwine.
