前武僧大隻佬，因好友小翠被孫果殺害，靜思悟道後看到因果，故脫下袈裟還俗。重墮俗世卻過著聲色犬馬的生活，偶遇善良女警李鳳儀，憑一身武功助她追捕犯人。她在一次行動中險些墜樓，大隻佬拯救她時看到她的因果。李鳳儀不相信因果法則，終遭虐殺。悲劇突至，大隻佬面臨復仇與救贖的抉擇。

本片由前段嬉鬧喜劇，至中段懸疑追兇，至後段揭示一切人物之間的因果關係，敘事和類型轉換都顯得別有洞天。由韋家輝主導創作的劇本，延續銀河映像宿命的母題，這次藉佛家「萬般帶不走，唯有業隨身」的因果法則，走出一片新天地，也化解後SARS時期籠罩香港人的愁緒和怨氣。

A former Shaolin monk is drawn back into the secular world after witnessing karmic visions tied to a friend's murder. Immersed in worldly pleasures, he meets a kind-hearted policewoman and aids her with his martial prowess. A tragic chain of events leads to her brutal death, pushing him to the brink of vengeance. Yet in his rage, enlightenment returns—he chooses mercy over bloodshed. Years later, wisdom brings him to face justice. Through comic, suspense, and spiritual turns, karma is laid bare in this allegoric tale that channels Hong Kong's post-SARS grief into transcendence.
