一個專門策劃暗殺的四人集團，擅長讓受害者看似死於意外。首領「大腦」處事謹慎，唯有天衣無縫的計劃才會執行。某次行動後，成員「肥佬」遭公車輾斃，「大腦」懷疑另有行家暗中佈局。他的多疑與偏執如心魔纏身，不但使他與成員關係破裂，更害死無辜巿民。他試圖拆解的「意外」，會不會正是命運設下的圈套？

鄭保瑞於2002年加入銀河映像團隊擔任副導演，見證銀河映像對劇本創作的堅持和尊重。本片花了一年多時間籌備，單是劇本大綱就寫了20多稿，後來在監製杜琪峯鼓勵下「邊拍邊想」，發掘更多想像空間。鄭保瑞向來鍾情暗黑的基調，本片拍出與銀河映像一脈相承的冷峻電影風格。

A four-person team specializing in orchestrating assassinations disguises each killing as a convincing "accident," executed only when a flawless plan is devised by its cautious leader. After one mission, a member is killed in a seemingly random traffic incident, raising suspicions of foul play. Director Soi Cheang joined Milkyway Image in 2002 as an assistant director, witnessing firsthand the company’s unwavering respect for screenwriting. Encouraged by producer Johnnie To to "shoot and discover," greater creative possibilities were explored during filming.
