年輕的梅英因丈夫重病，婚姻關係變得空洞，過著偽單身生活，周旋於不同男子之間。長子青茂目睹母親出軌外遇、並在父親去世後改嫁，家庭瓦解，對母親心生仇恨。被父親朋友撫養的青茂，卻在成年後偶遇母親遭逢事故，仇恨終逐漸消散。宋存壽改編自於梨華小說《母與子》，攜手李湘、秦漢、庹宗華等人，深入探討新時代女性的情慾與母職矛盾、家庭與婚姻的衝突。敏銳地呈現平凡人的掙扎，反映出婚姻與家庭倫理的衝突，並以關懷的視角探索這些問題，留下深刻反思。

Mei-ying, living a semi-single life due to her husband's illness, becomes involved with different men. As the family falls apart due to her affair and her husband's passing, her son Ching-mao harbors deep resentment toward his mother until he witnesses her accident. Sung Tsun-shou's adaptation of the novella Mother and Son explores themes of women's sexual autonomy, motherhood, and the tension between family and marriage.
