In 1895, the Lumière brothers invented cinema with the creation of the Cinématographe, producing some of the earliest films in history. From mise en scène to traveling shots, special effects, and remakes, they laid the foundation of what we know as "filmmaking" today. This journey to the origins of cinema features 108 restored Lumière films, selected by Thierry Frémaux and enriched with his insightful narration, providing a rare glimpse of the world at the turn of the century.
