Apart from the nail color "Jungle Red," the next hottest trend in Manhattan is the rumor that Mary Haines's husband Stephen is having an affair with perfume counter girl Crystal Allen. Mary's cousin, Sylvia, wastes no time in sharing the news with Mary's friends. Together, they try to set Mary up with Crystal, anticipating an escalation of bitter and hysterical drama between the two women.
