Following the murders of their parents, two sisters inherit the family business — a state-of-the-art surveillance system, turning them into the most lethal assassins in Hong Kong. But after killing a tycoon, a detective goes hot on their tail. Loyalties are tested and survival becomes the most extreme sport. A Girls with Guns subgenre, So Close revisits the femme fatale trope, albeit deferring to the sexualized male gaze. Featuring early-2000 gadgets and fashion, So Close captures the Y2K techno-optimism following the Hong Kong Handover in 1997.
