欲轉型成電影編劇的保羅因緣際會加入了由導演佛列茲執導的《奧德賽》拍攝團隊。為討好財大氣粗的製作人，保羅受製作人的邀約，攜年輕貌美的妻子登門拜訪。妻子面對製作人明目張膽的勾引，眼見丈夫因利益而妥協的姿態以及與丈夫曖昧不清的女翻譯員，所謂「輕蔑」的可怕情緒逐步在心中發酵，隨時間越發強烈，蓋過愛情，最終走向失望。

Paul, an aspiring playwright, finds himself caught between the director and the producer, on a movie adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey. When Paul finds himself swayed by the power of the producer’s money, he finds his wife Camille begins to regard him with increasing contempt.
