「你喜歡你的膚色嗎？」導演問著鏡頭前的黝黑男子Bob，他靜靜回答：「我希望有一天，人沒有顏色之分，因為全世界的人都流著一樣顏色的血。」

2012年，陳潔瑤隨一群原住民藝術家前往新喀里多尼亞，在當地的棲包屋文化中心駐村展演，這座被殖民的南太平洋小島上，原住民卡納克人看似樂天，卻始終被法國的主流文化壓抑。陳潔瑤以質樸的紀實手法，紀錄了她與當地居民的真摯互動，儘管沉浸在碧海藍天的美景，她卻漸漸發現南國孩子們的陽光燦笑下，其實潛藏了與自己共通的憂傷……。

The film documents Laha Mebow's first trip to New Caledonia with a group of Taiwan’s indigenous artists for an exhibition at its Tjibaou Cultural Center. Despite the language barrier, she explores the island with her hand-held camera and interacts with the locals, gradually realizing the shared fate of indigenous communities across the vast ocean.

那年，部落年輕人又開始發起回老部落的尋根活動。快七十年沒有人住的部落幾乎沒有路可以走，Wilang拖著快八十歲的身體跟我們一起上山。隨著Wilang腳步，尋根像是一條穿越時空的路，而下山後老人家的夢境也穿越了那些時代記憶……。2018年，國家影視聽中心與公共電視合製「時光臺灣」系列短片，找來十四位導演運用典藏資料影像進行全新創作，串起跨時空的影像對話。陳潔瑤延續一貫的創作視角，在漫漶的歷史遺跡中，以鏡頭抵抗遺忘，循著耆老帶領年輕人的步伐，弔念消逝的原鄉。

After being abandoned for nearly seven decades, the old tribal village is difficult to reach with almost no roads leading to it. The only guide on our journey in search of our roots is Wilang, who drags his octogenarian body up the mountain. As we follow Wilang's footsteps, we travel a tunnel back in time...
