從1954年的黑白作品《武松打虎》，到2023年獲得金馬獎的《八戒》，臺灣動畫產業承襲過去代工好萊塢動畫的優良技術，近幾年不僅在製作層面及敘事創意獲得國際大獎肯定，同時也深受男女老少闔家青睞，本土市場表現優異，故本年度選片以臺灣動畫為焦點，自王小棣導演的《魔法阿媽》的動畫經典，到代表臺灣獲得奧斯卡最佳動畫短片競賽資格的優秀短片，從極簡到繁複、敘事到實驗，更呈現了臺灣動畫創作者的長才與巧思。
