墨西哥的鞋匠家族「里韋拉斯」有個代代相傳的家訓，就是家族的成員絕不能與音樂有任何關係，但男孩米高難以抵擋音樂的魅力，時常躲在家中閣樓練習，更無師自通了吉他技巧。就在「亡靈節」這天，米高的家族發現了他的秘密，盛怒之下砸了吉他，傷心又憤怒的米高跑去已逝吉他之神德拉古司的紀念碑內，卻意外進入「夜總會」的世界，米高變成了只能被亡靈看見的「活死人」。米高是否能在亡靈節結束之際找到回家的路呢? 此行也讓他對夢想和家人有了一次大和解。

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.
