一位樂觀開朗的外婆，隨著將軍女婿從中國撤退到臺灣來，當爸爸和其他的軍事將領們召開秘密會議，忙著兵棋推演準備反攻大陸，媽媽也忙著張羅生計的情況之下，外婆是孫子童年成長中的最佳玩伴。魂牽夢縈的，外婆總是會想起河南老家院子裡那棵逃難離家時正結滿果實的大紅柿子樹。

Following her son-in-law who withdraws from mainland China, the optimistic grandmother sets up a home in bad living conditions for her grandchildren when the father is busy having a secret meeting with other generals. Although grandma plays a irreplaceable role among her grandkids, she sometimes thinks of the days back in her hometown.
