1949年國共戰爭爆發，國民政府全面撤退，李彌將軍率領的第八軍逃至雲南邊界，遇上李國輝團長領導的部隊，雙方人馬合力逃出中國，進入緬甸地帶建立據點，展開長達五年的異域生涯。緬甸政府多次派兵對其展開攻擊，即使身陷異鄉孤立無援，他們仍舊沒有放棄抵抗。然而國民政府卻不承認他們，造成他們有家歸不得、進退兩難⋯⋯。

Facing the struggle against Chinese Communist forces, General Li Mi withdrew his corps to Myanmar, and bumped into General Li Kuo-hui and his squad. Suffering alone in a foreign country, they still resisted Myanmar government's constant attack bravely. However, the relationship with R.O.C. government put them in a dilemma.
