夫妻南生與李紅為追求更理想的生活，想盡辦法爭取到了妻子出國的機會。先到美國的李紅備感壓力，萌生回鄉念頭，彼岸的南生只能在信件中慰藉。隨著失去妻子的聯絡，南生決定冒險偷渡美國尋妻，文化差異和價值衝擊下，他感受到了獨處異鄉的艱辛並失去了信心。一天，失聯多年的兩人重逢，一切卻不再如前……。
　

A Chinese couple was separated by the painful, arduous and risky process of illegal immigration to America. A year after his wife leaves for New York City, the husband follows, but discovers his wife’s been lost in the crush of poverty, hardship and urban decay.
